G Dev at TCCS-13: Industry Momentum Builds for Scalable CCS

TCCS 13 conference

This month, G Dev joined 600 global participants at the Trondheim CCS Conference (TCCS-13)—a leading forum for advancing carbon capture, transport, and storage (CCS) technologies. The event brought together a powerful mix of scientific research and industrial insight, offering a platform for collaboration, discussion, and forward-looking innovation.

G Dev’s Ali Najarnezhadmashhadi and Carl Häggmark were on-site, engaging with stakeholders and exploring new collaborative opportunities. The energy was high, and the message was clear: the CCS landscape is evolving fast, and industry is stepping up.

Some of the key takeouts:

Strong industrial presence:

TCCS13 featured an impressive lineup of industry leaders and research institutions, actively involved in CCS deployment. Key players such as Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Equinor, TotalEnergies, Aker Carbon Capture, Aalborg Portland, Ørsted, Celsio, Rambøll, Shell, and Petrofac participated through technical presentations, case studies, and panel discussions. Their engagement clearly demonstrated the industry’s growing commitment to scaling up CCS and developing viable commercial pathways.

On the research front, institutions such as SINTEF, NTNU, KTH, IFP Energies Nouvelles, and TNO delivered presentations spanning process modelling, advanced materials, and CO₂ transport and storage strategies. This combination of applied research and commercial perspectives underscored the collaborative momentum behind advancing CCS technologies.

Interest in G Dev’s solution:

We had several good conversations around our work, particularly with stakeholders interested in monitoring and validation technologies. A few attendees from R&D teams expressed interest in potential collaboration or learning more about our approach. This means real opportunities for future partnerships.

Industrial CO₂ applications:

The industrial applications track proved especially aligned with G Dev’s focus. Presentations centered on hard-to-abate sectors such as cement, steel, pulp & paper, and waste-to-energy, featuring pilot and demonstration projects now entering operational phases. A recurring theme was the need for scalable, cost-efficient monitoring—where G Dev’s technologies offer strong added value. Discussions on techno-economic assessments and integrated monitoring confirmed a growing industry demand for deployable, practical CCS solutions.
