Scaling Industrial Carbon Capture for Large-Scale Deployment

Industrial carbon capture must be designed for deployment, not only for performance. In the first GDev White Paper Series publication, Scaling Industrial Carbon Capture Through Gas–Liquid Contactor Innovation, we examine why absorber design is one of the most important engineering levers in solvent-based post-combustion capture.

The paper explores how industrial realities such as pressure drop, footprint, fouling tolerance, maintainability, and retrofit constraints shape technology choice, and reviews the main gas–liquid contactor approaches used in the field. It also outlines GDev’s perspective on intensified spray absorption with integrated centrifugal phase management as a compelling pathway toward compact, low-pressure-drop, and operationally robust carbon capture systems.

This paper is part of a broader GDev white paper series on deployable gas-treatment technologies for industrial decarbonization and emissions control.
