An innovation venture company

With a unique competence within centrifugal separation and disc stack technology we develop solutions and technologies for a cleaner and healthier future.

Rotating for a better future

Grimaldi Development (GDEV) is an innovation-driven Swedish engineering company with unique competences in disc stack and centrifugal separation technology. For decades, GDEV engineers have developed novel air cleaning solutions for the metalworking and automotive industries. To date, our rotating technologies have provided clean air for thousands of consumers around the world. We believe our highly specialized capabilities can help solve complex environmental and health-related issues, which is why we are expanding into new fields of applications in the life sciences and carbon capture industries.

Carbon Capture

Combining Micro Droplet Scrubbing Technology with our Centrifugal Separation Technology, we are now developing the next generation of compact and cost–efficient carbon capture technologies. Our novel approach for carbon capture aims to accelerate the much–needed deployment of carbon capture to mitigate the growing impact of climate change.

Life Sciences

We are actively developing a device to reduce blood culture testing time in life sciences labs. Our process utilizes centrifugal force to rapidly separate bacteria in blood samples which successfully increases bacteria concentration at the point of extraction, allowing for rapid detection of bacteria from blood for sepsis diagnostics.

Automotive

Founded in 2020, GDEV’s subsidiary Rotera Automotive develops and sells active crankcase ventilation systems and solutions for separating liquid and solid particles from aerosols for the automotive industry.

Centrifugal Separation Technology

Well over 100 years ago, centrifugal separation technology was invented to remove solids from liquids. Based on this proven technology we developed novel rotating disc stack technologies for superior air cleaning solutions. And since 2002, we have been awarded over 100 patents, making us the global leader with over 40% of all technology innovations.

GDEV Labs

From initial concept to complete solutions, our two Swedish R&D facilities in Nacka Strand and Illertissen can develop, design, and build prototypes using the latest technological advancements in disc stack and centrifugal separation. Our laboratories are equipped with advanced measurement, testing and simulation instruments t to bring our innovative technologies to life.
